Just noticed that the Big Wall dropdown is missing from the Explore Tab.  Anyone else see or do not see the same?

Hi Scott,
the Big Wall has just been retired and its functions have been integrated in the search.

The search module on AstroBin has just been rehauled but not all data is fully available yet, so that's why I haven't announced.

A fully detailed explanation will be released in around 12 hours.

I'm sure you must have had your reasons for retiring the Big Wall, but for my two cents worth I wish you would keep it.  It was really nice to see everybody's work at a glance and to seek out potential new imaging targets.  Please bring it back!!

Carl,
to be honest the Wall was quite redundant with the Search and the home page. On the home page you can see the latest images https://www.astrobin.com/?s=recent#stream (play with small icon buttons that are in the grey bar under the "Latest from the forums" section).

Now the search has the filters that were only on the Wall before, so all bases are covered.

not sure how to see all uploaded images from the last 24hrs now that the big wall is gone. the beauty of it was all the current images seen at once. what is the new way to do this?

https://www.astrobin.com/?s=recent#stream  has always been available.

The Big Wall link is present again in the Explore menu. It still goes to the new search page, but when there are no query arguments, it behaves the same as the old wall. Win-win! smile

The combination of the Big Wall and search on one page makes sense to me. I'm a big fan! 👍

However, some of the combo-box options are displayed behind the thumbnails for images when they are opened.

Hi Salvatore,

Same for me, the combobox dropdown of the search parameters are shown behind the image thumbnails and can't be seen.

Also another quick question relating to this. Yesterday I promoted an image from the staging area to public but it is not showing up in the recent images or big wall? Does it use the date the image was uploaded? I had assumed it would be the date it is promoted?

Thanks,

Mike

They should be sorted by the time the were first made public. I will double check.

It's right there on page 2, if you refer to your M45.

That's very strange. I just found it as well but for me it is way down with all the images from the 17th of November. When I hover over the thumbnail it correctly shows 11/24/2018 but every other image on that section shows 11/17/2018. So to me it looks like it's showing the correct date but is sorted by the upload date…
