Hello everyone!
I´m quite a newbie in the astrophotography world and still use my telephoto zoom lens to capture data of objects in the night sky.
Here is my take on the Andromeda galaxy, exposed for a little under 3 hours at 300mm focal length.

Andromeda Widefield

I recently downloaded Pixinsight and figured out a workflow that seems to work for me . So at the moment this is the best result i am able to achieve.

My processing workflow in PI:
- Stacked the data without any calibration files
- Dynamic Crop
- Dynamic Background Extraction
- SPCC (solved the image before) inkl. BG Neutralization
- BlurXTerminator
- NoiseXTerminator
- General Hyperbolic Stretch
- Star removal via Starnet v2
- Arcsinh Stretch on the galaxy
- Saturation and contrast adjustment on galaxy
- - used Adobe PS´s Camera Raw to remove color noise and did basic adjustments to enhance contrast in different areas even more
- Bills star reduction method on the star layer
- Combined the galaxy and the stars back again
- - back to PS to use selective High Pass sharpening

I wonder if there is an easy way to exclude PS completely, but at the moment i´m so used to work with PS that this was the easiest way for me.
The result looks stunning to me, taking into consideration that i have no telescope and an unmodified camera, but i know there is room for improvement.
Maybe saturation and sharpness could be improved? I´m very interested what you guys think!

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give me.

I will let other people comment on the PixInsight-part, but I'd just like to say great image! Well done!
