Lacerta offers a bended knee pier (https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=8589#cs) that when coupled with a Skywatcher EQ6 mount allows horizons to horizon tracking without meridian flip. The best alternative mount that does not require meridian flips is the Avalon M-Uno single fork EQ currently listed at about $6,800 USD. The Lacerta pier+Skywatcher EQ6+Berlebach tripod totals about $2,600 USD. Has anyone tried the Lacerta bended knee pier? Any opinions on this approach?
