In UK summer most observing time is in twilight - AM&PM and seeing is sometimes reasonable - I need help on aquisition, filters and technique

Hello,
An IR-pass filter blocks visible light allowing lunar imaging during twilight. I am using the Astronomik Pro-Planet 742nm and ZWO IR850nm with good results. Please note that an IR-pass filter requires longer exposure times up to 4x but in turn it compensates for poor seeing to some extend.
Cheers

Hi,

I second what Robert says. An IR-pass filter can even allow you to do some imaging during full daylight. You will suffer some loss in contrast, and you do need a really clear sky for best results. I would advise to use a 807 or 850nm filter; the further from visual light the better.

Wouter.
