Goodmorning from Bortle 2 Potter County! I know this post might be VERY similar to another post and I'm sorry for that. But my question, Galaxy Season is literally peaking at me from around the tree line. I'm buying the Edge HD 8". My question,
I'm looking for a cooled mono astro cam, that will not break the bank, but will pair perfect with the Edge HD 8" at its NATIVE Focal Length of 2032mm.
TIA

First of all, don't buy a CCD camera. That's the technology of the previous century. Buy a camera with CMOS inside.

@Wei-Hao Wang I corrected the header! Thanks for that! Any opinions on a fair Camera that would pair well?

I'd go with the ASI294MM Pro, or the ASI2600MM pro with binning x2.

My choice would be: Player One Ares-M Pro

Are you planning on dedicating it to the edge hd, or were you thinking of using it with other scopes?

Well, you’ll need good seeing for any camera @ that focal length. The 2600 series are hard to beat. I’d do some research on whether the guide cam on the duos can track with narrowband at f/10.
i have a 294mm pro and have been playing with bin 1 in not so optimal skies and it’s leading to wonky CA in my stacks. A 294mm in bin 2 is a good match for the resolution (in good seeing), but a 2600 is a better camera with slightly better resolution and a slightly larger fov, and is less annoying to calibrate.
i’d probably go for a 2600mm if i could do it all over again. (Non-duo)
