Look at this genius guy's post I found on CloudyNights. Never heard of Bluestacks before. Maybe someone here has more experience doing this and could explain more about this? Like, are there any glitches? Is the Wifi connection smooth? |

I have been using Bluestacks for 6 months. It works flawlessly with the ASIair. It emulates android environment on your PC. The advertisements are annoying but beyond that it works really well. |

@Ashraf AbuSara Thanks a lot! This is an incredible discovery for me. Who knows how many times I told beginners that it only works with phones and tablets! Yikes, sorry to those people. |

Yikes, sorry to those people. *** Typed my reply here *** Well it sort of does Bluestacks just emulates the android enviroment on your Windows platform. So it is basically a virtual android phone or tablet running on the PC. |

Hi, I´m using LDplayer9 to run ASIAIR and Skysafari6 apps on my Windows10 computer (and mobile devices) to control my AZ-EQ6 Pro and astro equipment. It works better and is faster than with Bluestacks, which has problems with dropdown menus (makes it impossible to change certain values in the ASIAIR app). I guess it has to do with which android version the emulator supports. I connect the ASIAIR remotely to Ethernet powerline adapters via the electrical network, or via a mobile device when doing polar alignment adjustments, which has to be done directly at the mount. |

I’m pretty sure I’ve changed every setting there is to change using Bluestacks and never had an issue with drop down menus. Good to know there are other alternatives though. |

Quinn Groessl: Same. Never had any issues making any changes. Blowing the ASIair app on a 77 inch screen and using it with a mouse and keyboard felt normal despite the UI being optimized for mobile devices. Like I said the only annoyance was the ads, because it felt almost like I was one click away from downloading malware. But once you go full screen they don't intrude on your experience. |

The main problem with Bluestacks and LDPlayer is all the advertising, some of wich are a bit "suspicious"... Have anyone tried to buy a version to solve this or found a similar emulator without these problems? |

Tommy Blomqvist: You can use WSA if you have Win11. An official Android emulator released by Microsoft. I use it always with my ASIAIR and It works like a charm https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/android/wsa/ Thank you use any Apk installer on the available on MS store like https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9P2JFQ43FPPG?ocid=pdpshare (the one i use) to install the .apk file. Than you will find ASIAIR in Win like every other installed program. |
