Great idea Van!
I spent several years traveling to NASA Johnson Space Flight Center in the mid-2010s, and came to be a big fan of the Rocket Park that sits
adjacent to the Center and one passes by each day when entering/exiting the main gate. What a great way to start and end a day!
I was fortunate to be there during a conjunction of the Moon and Saturn on October 23, 2017 that was aligned with some of the great exhibits in the
Rocket Park. I scoped out the setting and lines of sight around dusk when only the waxing crescent moon was visible, then returned after dark
to capture the Moon, Saturn, and the great rockets that were part of the program that led to us setting foot on the Moon.

Just joined Astrobin today. Great suggestion Van. Have uploaded recent shots of lunar surface taken ove the past few days to celebrate the incredible achievment of 50 years ago & hope that we might see the start of a new age of space exploration with manned craft. THe uploaded images are the first I have ever taken so what better time to start than July 50 years on!

Waning Moon 82.7% - A celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11
I want to thank everyone who submitted images for this project, the people who commented on those images, the people that “Like” those images, and those who celebrated in their own way.
