Hi,I'm running a project called Continuum - a space exploration serie. In each interconnected episode, we discover and wonder at a new region of the sky. #15 is out today : https://youtu.be/iJh8aKrMb5Y

Since episode #13 (the Large Magellanic Cloud), we've been moving away from the South celestial pole and gradually up towards the Milky Way, crossing fields of small galaxies and IFNs.

Note that the data is captured from a personnal telescope hosted in Chile. Lately, I've been noticing the growing presence of diffusion halos around the brightest stars. It has its charm, but it's detrimental to the SNR, especially in faint nebulae like IFNs.

Here is Jupiter, for example :
photo_2023-12-08_21-41-26.jpgA little investigation led to the discovery that the front lens of the telescope's corrector was covered in dust, the result of a storm in early November.
An acrobatic clean-up later, and it's fixed... well, in the meantime, the data for Episode 16 has already been captured... we'll have to improvise! So if you ever go remote, be sure to bring a motorized dust cover

Once again, big screen and sound recommended ;) viva la resolución.

If you like the project, please subscribe, why not comment, and above all spread the word, it helps!
