Description

This is in the top 5 of my weirdest and lucky shots! I set up my image train to image some deep sky. Celestron Edge 8 + f/7 focal reduces + ZWO ASI533MC + Idas Lp filter. This was the night of Sep 5. Forecast was mixed, and I was hopeful that by 10 pm it would clear. No, it didn't. I just managed to do polar alignment, but no fine tuning with multi-star alignment. Pointed at Jupiter and it tracked. So, why not! Instead of the larger image you would normally take with a barlow, this is the opposite. I am amazed something came through. Super lucky shot. You can see Europa on the right of the planet, and I think the spot in the center is Ganymede with its shadow towards the left. I would have expected Ganymede to appear brighter instead of a dark spot, but maybe because of the filter I had .... ? But please correct me if I am mistaken.

(apologies it's not the best. The image is really really small. I had to use a very reduced FOV in SharpCap)
