Description

NGC-404 is a small, face-on type SAO galaxy that lies less than 10 arc minutes NE of 2nd Magnitude Beta Andromedae (Mirach). It is almost overwhelmed by Mirach's glare, which makes it a challenge to observe visually, in spite of its brightness of 11th magnitude.
