NGC 6906

This Astrobin Debut Object is a barred spiral galaxy located 220 million light years away in the constellation of Aquila at a declination of +6 degrees. It spans 1.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view. This corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years. From our view perspective, the disk is inclined about 25 degrees from edge-on.

I like galaxies with chaotic arm structures like this one. A central yellow barlens lies at the center of the disk. It looks like a central pseudo-ring is trying to form, but the upper left quadrant of the galaxy is not having any part of this detail, looking faint and occluded.
