Description

Recording duration: 3 nights out of the city center (Bortle 6)

NGC 7000 is an extended ionized gas cloud in the constellation Swan, excited to glow by UV light from nearby stars.
The nebula got its name North American Nebula (NGC 7000) because of its shape, which reminds of a map of the North American continent.
I show a section of it, which is often called The Great Wall.
The gas nebula is between 2,000 and 3,000 light-years away (its exact distance is difficult to determine because of its size) and consists mainly of hydrogen, some of which appears in ionized form and emits visible light in the form of deep red radiation.

Have fun :-)

Greetings
Stefan
