Description

When I was shooting the M41 star cluster, I noticed some distinct nebulosity in the background after a few hours of shooting. This included dark clouds along with some Oiii and Ha signals.

After searching online, I couldn't find any photos that really did justice to this area, so I decided to give long exposure shots a go to see what I could uncover. After experimenting with different shots, I finally settled on a composition that nicely captured some of the surrounding Oiii signals. The whole process took about 100 hours, but the final image was made using 65 hours of that data.

This shoot was not just a technical challenge but also an exploration of the unknown. With the long exposures, I was able to reveal the hidden astronomical phenomena around the M41 cluster, including dark clouds and nebulosity rich in Oiii and Ha signals. Completing this photo showed us a more vibrant universe.
