3-panel mosaic on the Veil Nebula

Revision title: RGB mosaic - slightly reprocessed

This is the Veil Nebula: a remnant of long-past supernova that left with beautiful expanding wisps of ionized hydrogen (red) and oxygen (blue-green). This high-resolution look was captured as a 3-panel mosaic at a 1476mm focal length with 0.525" / pixel. Each panel is two nights of 5 minute exposures, for a total of 3 hours per panel and 9 hours overall. The images have been scaled down to 50% resolution for easier sharing.

Processing was a pure joy: I only needed minimal touchup in photoshop to bring out the structure, and minimal denoising in Topaz (1% reduce noise, 5% sharpening). The Ha and [OIII] panels show the raw mosaics without additional processing. I also experimented with RegiStax wavelet sharpening on selected portions.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
