Description

Acquiring data for Barnard 150 was a labor of love. The data collection started in 2019 with 300 sec images. It was quickly evident that considerable acquisition time was necessary to capture the dust in the field. I switched to 600 sec and moved to a darker site with a 4 hour round trip drive. Multiple trips over two years with multiple processing episodes in pixinsight were the order of the day. My processing skills were improving over the time frame. Use of pixelmath was invaluable as taught to me in the old but still very useful tutorial by Gerald Wechselberger "How to enhance Nebula without pushing stars." The process is long and involves pixelmath but the techniques learned are invaluable in processing all astro images. The tutorial can be found on his web site (www.werbeagentur.org) under "tutorials:"
