Description

The central region of the Heart Nebula, IC 1805. Stellar winds create the majestic shape some 7,500 light years from Earth. Young stars ionize the gases causing them to glow, contrasted by the dark silhouettes composed primarily of dust.

This image was captured through 3nm ultra-narrowband filters and is a composite of ionized Sulphur, Hydrogen, and Oxygen atoms and displayed with a modified SHO "Hubble" Palette. Data was collected over 3 nights from the 26th to 31th of October 2021 from the outskirts of Vancouver, Canada (Bortle 6).
