Description

95 x120 second lights were taken on Sept 14, 2021 when Comet C/2019 L3 ATLAS  was quite far away from us at 3.95 AU.  Its brightness was quite bright, estimated around mid 11th magnitude, yet perihelion and MOID (earth) will be early January of next year.

Perihelion distance will be way out there 3.6AU, well between the Orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

The excitement , IMO, is that closest approach is January 6th 2021 and will close in by another ~1.5AU to 2.6AU.  That's close enough to potentially image more details.
