Description

The Prawn Nebula is a beautiful emission nebula located about 9000 LY away from Earth in the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way, nestled within the constellation Scorpius (which is an absolute treasure trove of amazing DSO targets). I think my framing was slightly off, missing a bit of the interesting nebulosity in the upper left corner. This was another one-night test of the mono camera to see what can be accomplished with few but long exposures. The ASI533MM has such low noise that the SNR very quickly stacks up allowing you to get great images in a relatively short time. The colour palette used is from the Cloudy Nights sight, using dynamic pixel match combinations in PixInsight (link).

I hope you enjoy!
