This galaxy is known as the the "Little Sombrero" galaxy, being about half the angular size of the Sombrero galaxy, M104. Its more edge-on, with a similar spectacular dust lane and glowing bright core. A couple of this galaxy's globular clusters are also visible, one being the 21st magnitude "star" deep within its central bulge on the left side in this image. There are a good number of other globular's in this galaxy that are closer to 22nd magnitude and dimmer, but this image isn't deep enough to show them. I ran out of nights with good seeing this fall when the object was well positioned for viewing from my backyard before rains came, so had to settle for a total of 44 minutes of integration time - half with a light pollution filter and the other half with just a standard IR/Cut filter.

I need to collect another hour and a half from my backyard or maybe an hour from a dark sky site and add it to this data to reach the image depth I had hoped for. Fine features are nicely resolved, but there is still too much noise which reaching those dimmer 22nd magnitude globular clusters and the outer parts of the halo.
