Description

Rho Ophiuchi nebula. 231x 180sec exposures (11.5 hrs) over three nights recently.
Well, this was a fight to the death and I think RO won. A very complex image to process in Pixinsight and I have no idea if it's good or not.

Several things:
- the large amount of nebulosity made background extraction very difficult, and I can't tell if there's a cast on the RHS or if that's just more interstellar dust.

- What appears to be amp glow at the bottom left probably isn't. I've used the appropriate calibration frames - dark, flat and dark flat - and the fact that images on another DSO target on the same night do not show this glow indicates it may be interference from a bright star that's just out of the frame.

- And I had absolutely no idea how %^$#!  big this DSO is! This image is only a fraction of the whole complex, and Telescopious tells me I'd need a 16 frame mosaic to get it all in. Challenge accepted.
