Description

I recently attended teh OZSky 2023  Star Party in Coonabarrabran. A week sent in beautiful dark skies with some amazing transparency and seeing. I used my EQ6-R with the 8" Quattro for several nights and caught some great shots. On the 3rd night, I decided to try something a little different. I used my Sigma Art 135mm f1.8 lens coupled with the ASI2600MC and the Optolong L enhance. Filter. I had 4 targets in mind. The Orion Complex, The Eta Carina region, the Rho Oph complex, and the Vela SNR. Unfortunately, the4 focus shifted part way thru the image so the quality is not perfect but very close. The Art lenses have electronic aperture control so I could only shoot wide open at f1.8. Still, the image as it was caught blew me away. I hope to do this object again before it gets too late for the rest of the year.
