Description

It was a clear night with a full moon.  The Bubble Nebula was starting to rise in the northern sky.  I thought that its direction being pretty far away from the moon would help keep the moonlight out of the frame, so I tried imaging it.  Unfortunately, the reflected moonlight was still finding its way into the frame, so I got my dew shield.  I put it on the scope and it helped block some of the light.  Switching back to imaging, I tried some progressively longer exposure times. Two minute exposures revealed some detail of the nebula.  When I got the first image, I was surprised to see the star cluster M52 in the frame.  I started a sequence of 100 of these images and then some shorter exposures, which I might try to use later to reduce the brightness of the star field.  Darks, Biases and Flats wrapped it up.
