Description

This is my last shot of the comet C/2022 E3 ZTF. After this one, I will dedicate myself to other projects; the galaxy season is coming.Pictures were taken on Jan. 31 from 1.45 a.m. to 6.45 a.m. (local time) after a deep-sky session. The comet was about 43.5 million km. away from the Earth. On Feb. 1 it transited on its perigee (the orbit point closest to the Earth) at about 42.6 million km. away from the Earth. There was a lot of fervor about this comet, but those who expected to see it by the naked eye were disappointed, because of its low magnitude and the moonlight on the night of perigee.I have to mention particularly the green comet coma. Its color is the product of diatomic carbon on the comet’s nucleus surface. After this transit, the comet changed its orbit, which is now elliptical; so it will not return near the sun.
