Sesión. Segunda noche para fotografía en el salto. Problemas iniciales con alineación polar de montura. PHD2 termina haciendo buen trabajo. Esta imagen fue la cuarta y última de la noche de 130 a 3 am. Completamente despejado y con frió moderado. Hice pruebas entre 180 y 300 pero no detecté gran diferencia, al final me arrepiento y mejor hubiera ido por 300s.

Lugar. El Salto es un lugar ubicado en el semidesierto, escala 1 de lighpollutionmap. Con presencia de contaminación lumínica en el horizonte al este, oeste y Sur.

Objeto. Muy tenue, talvez con 300s se obtiene mayor detalle de nebulosas. Buena composición al mantener en el cuadro el doble cumulo de perseo. Un deleite observar tantas estrellas en un campo amplio de 135mm.

Session. Second night for astrophotography. Initial problems with polar alignment of CGEM mount. PHD2 ends up doing good work. This image was the fourth and last of the night from 130 to 300 am. Completely clear and moderately cold.

Place. El Salto is a place located in the semi-desert, scale 1 of the lighpollutionmap. With the presence of light pollution near the horizon to the east, west and south.

Object. Very dim, maybe with 300s you get more detail of nebulae. Good composition by keeping the double cumulus in the image. A delight to observe so many stars in a wide field of 135mm.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
