Description

Hello friends!

This is an image of comet K2 Panstarrs as it brushes by Messier 10 - another nice globular cluster in the southern sky.
Taken Sunday morning July 17, 2022 between 1 am and 2:30 am somewhere near Vivian, MB in the company of two of the astro gang - this time it was Kevin B and Marc.

40 lights x 60 seconds
60 bias
30 darks
30 flats
Stacked in astropixel processor
Processed in Pixinsight (GAME, NoiseX, decon)

SW 5" Apo, flattener
AP 900 mount
ASIair pro onboard computer

Just prior to sunset I took an image of some crepuscular rays, bouncing off a low cloud in the northwest.

Thanks for looking!

K2:  Is one of the physically largest comets detected to date.  It will reach its closest point from the sun on December 19, 2022.   Happy to catch this one, my second comet.July and August 2022 is the best time to look for it.
