Description

NGC6791 is an unusually old open cluster. Its age is estimated to be about 8 billion years. The bright star on the right is a cold carbon star U Lyrae, which has the surface temperature just about 2500K. The field is sprinkled with hot subdwarfs. The surface temperature of Cl* NGC 6791 KU B2 star at the bottom of the image is 40000K, according to Catalogue of hot subdwarf stars DR2 (Geier, 2020). Please see the annotated revision B.

I had to crop the image in order to remove stray light caused by two bright stars near the lower right corner of the field. Revision C is the unprocessed full field image.

Enjoy!
Vitali
