Description

You don’t see a lot of images of Sh2-227. It’s really faint, and it is outshone by nearby IC405 and 410. I like an underdog, so I gave it a shot with two nights of data. Here, I used RGB for only the stars, as the nebula is essentially invisible in the RGB data.  It's not the prettiest nebula out there, but I like to think I've done it justice with this image.The cluster above Sh2-227 is NGC1857. And the tiny flame-like nebula at top-right is a planetary nebula candidate: PN G167.9+00.9.
