Description

23x300". NGC891 is an edge-on spiral galaxy that is about 15 Mly away, while smaller NGC898, part of the Abell 347 galaxy cluster, is about 254 Mly distant. PGC9101, a face-on barred spiral galaxy located to the right of the prominent K0 (orange) type star (HD14771) at the top of the figure, is even further out at 619 million light years away. Please leave a comment about any other sources in this image, which shows numerous other small cataloged and uncataloged galaxies, that might be more distant than PGC9101.
