Description

I broke out my Celestron C-5 to see what was up with the sun. I discovered that sunspot AR2781 has decayed down to a single large sunspot after rotating across the sun's surface over the past several days as a large complex of several sunspots. Space Weather says it still has the potential to produce solar flares, but the chances are not large.

I used PIPP to stack the best 20 out of about 660 frames in each of five ten-second videos, for a total of 100 stacked frames. The color of the image is an artifact of the solar filter I used, a Thousand Oaks visible light filter. I also used a ZWO luminance filter to block IR.
