Description

The second picture from 2023 is also the result of a collaboration between me and my amateur astrophotographer friend Lino Benz, who has now become my official ionized sulfur dealer
In fact, in this image of the Seagull Nebula, I merged the signal acquired by me last year with L_eNhance filter (from which I extracted Ha and OIII) with those acquired a few days ago by Lino with SII and UV/IR-cut filters. The end result is a SHO composition with RGB stars, hope you like it.

The Seagull Nebula (also known as Gum 2, sometimes erroneously known as IC 2177) is a diffuse nebula visible on the border between the constellations Canis Major and the Unicorn. The nebula is located about 9 degrees northeast of the star Sirius and extends two degrees into an area rich in hot, blue stars of recent generation.
