Description

A cosmic perspective: a comet in our solar system (distance from us: 132 million km or 7.4 light-minutes), a back-drop of stars from our galaxy (tens to thousands of light-years), and a handful of background galaxies (millions of light-years).

Comet 409P/Loneos-Hill is a periodic comet visiting our star every 15 years. It was first observed in 2005, when it was given the designation P/2005 XA54, and its orbit takes it a little farther than that of Saturn.

Lights: 31 x 300 s (2h 35 min integration); no filter used.

Darks (library): 100 x 300 s

Bias (library): 100 x 32 μs

Flats: 0

Sensor temperature: -20 °C

Environment temperature: 1 °C

SQM: 21.1 Mag/arcsec²
