Description

Located in the constellation Vulpecula, NGC 6823 is a nice small open cluster of stars associated with a large emission nebula known as NGC 6820. These are actually part of an even larger faint emission nebula, SH2-86. Often this whole complex is just referred to as NGC 6820. The cluster is located about 6000 light-years away and measures about 50 light-years across. This target is not overly famous or well-known and does not have a common name that I can find. It is not photographed very often, but I collected 42 good 4-minute light subs last week, processed, integrated, and post processed in Pixinsight. Here's the HOO version:

42 x 240sec lights (L extreme filter, last week)
30 x 240sec darks
30 x 4.8sec dark flats
30 4.8 sec flats

Equipment used: SW ED100 esprit Triplet Apo on HEQ5 Pro mount with ZWO 294MC Pro main cam and ZWO 120mini guidecam, 60mm guidescope, ASI Air plus, Optolong L enhance filter, ZWO EAF, Bathinov mask, dew heater straps and powered by two Jackery packs.
