Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a Seyfert grand design spiral galaxy located 200 million light years away in the constellation of Pisces at a declination of +7 degrees.  Our view of this galaxy is about 30 degrees from edge-on.

This magnitude 13 galaxy spans 2 arc-minutes in our apparent view, corresponding to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

Aside from the 2 strong arms, much of the core and disk is asymmetric with numerous bright regions and star plumes.  Disturbance from a small companion is possible.  Some of the bright regions in the disk could be companion candidates.
