This is as far as this project will go--my laptop died before I could save the data to an external drive. I rarely get to shoot luminance as my sky is very poor--but this night was an exception. I was still limited to 30 sec subs, but normally even that yields a grey image. The FWHM of this image in unstretched state is 2.1"--not bad for me. If I had the data, I would continue when I get up and running again, but alas, that is not the case. I think this data is worthy of preservation in some form--not a bad luminance for 3.1 hours. If one looks carefully, dust lanes can be seen at the ends of the central bar. If I had a chance to process this image I am sure I could exccenbtuate them a bit. Its a shame this data can't be used. Another decent night and I could probably lower the FWHM of teh stack doen below 2.0" into the ones.

I hope to be imaging again soon....but who knows what difficulties I willl meet in my efforts to download all the software and drivers and figure out what com ports are being recognized for what.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
