Description

SH2-170, the Little Rosette Nebula, is in an H2 region of the constellation Cassiopeia.  - some 7500 light years away. This is an SHO image with significant amounts of overlapping Ha and Sll. The blue central region is Olll. The overlapping HA and Sll presented some challenges in pulling out color variations, so I experimented with several different palettes befor setteling on  this  fairly straight forward SHO with the application of the "Selective Color Correction Script" in the GraXpert Toolbox. I liked that it it offered a lot of different masks and colors but the real time preview is misleading because the actual application of the script came out much stronger than was shown in the preview. However,  I think they are onto something but really need to improve the real time preview. I think the "Improve Brilliance" script in the toolbox also has potential but I ended up not using it for the same reason - again the real time preview was not accurate. I found that  it was easier to use LHE and MNT because you could see what you were doing. Still, if they correct the preview problems, it could be a very useful tool.
