Description

In January this year a new comet was discovered that is approaching the sun and will be seen at its it's brightest on Monday, December 13, 2021. As it approaches the sun it will become brighter and larger. Since it will be very bright from my location later in the year I have worked up an observing plan now and begin imaging the comet to watch its progress throughout the year. Of course, weather permitting from my location.

This a new on-going project i started that will be updated throughout the remainder of this year.

Last night was my first attempt at this comet and was surprised I did have a faint image of the comet in a single frame. Using test shots with various filters based on the sky brightness I used my light pollution Luminance Chroma filter. I did have a cloud roll through as seen in the single frame image. The comet is the very faint object in the center of the frame as annotated.
