I’ve written two scripts that may be of use.
1. Generates a starless linear image (“LinearStarRemoval”)
2. Extracts the emission-line contribution from the omnipresent background spectrum using RGB and SHO images (“TrueColor-Plus SHORGB
I have used both of them on several images and they appear to work well. However, these are my first attempts at JavaScript and PI programming. I have a lot to learn—and there’s no supporting documentation for PI-Script programming. So, some of my code is a bit circuitous—or more than a bit. But both scripts execute quickly.

I have posted 3 images on astrobin that use these scripts. The RCW 58 image uses only TrueColor-Plus RGB, while Vela and NGC 2667 use both scripts.
Finally, the images present here were intended to explore and stretch the new scripts to produce images that demonstrate that the methods function, and not necessarily to produce the best images in the world. I leave that to others more capable than myself.
