Description

Double Cluster in the constellation of Perseus.

These two open star clusters, NGC 869 (right) and NGC 884 (left), lie at a distance of about 7,500 light years in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy. They’re separated from one another by a few hundred light-years.

Image acquired with the Planewave CDK17 telescope from Slooh in Mt Teide, Tenerife. Total exposure time 42 minutes.

Processing with AstroPixelProcessor, Photoshop CC with AstroPanel Pro, Astronomy Tools, Topaz Sharpen AI and NoiseXTerminator plug-ins.
