Description

This is definitely my biggest Lunar mosaic project ever undertaken. 60 panel mosaic of the waning Moon from January 30th 2024 with a C11 XLT (2,800mm at f/10) and Altair 385c OSC planetary camera. Total data set ended up being close to 2 terabytes so this one took a while for me to put together. Each panel is a 50% stack of the best frames from a total of 5,000 frames (so 2,500 frames stacked), captured in SER format using SharpCap Pro. Camera settings for each panel was Analogue Gain=2500, Exposure=0.7320ms and capture rate was ~125fps. I used PIPP to order the frames from best to worst for the 50% stack. Then I used Autostakkert to stack the best 50% for each panel. Output from Autostakkert (60 TIFF files in total) were stitched together into a single TIFF using Image Composite Editor and the resulting TIFF was processed using Photoshop.
