Taken last summer at Curmaturi Cabin, mostly to test the guiding while waiting for the clouds to clear - they did not, and instead covered the whole area. I knew I had few subs and wasn't very happy with guiding performance, so I almost forgot about these... Found during HDD clean-up, asked Stille if she's bored and wants to play with M31 subs on short integration time, and here we are... This galaxy never ceases to astonish me.
Things to improve:
- secondary mirror heating cable - now fixed using copper foil, painted black;
- better guiding - now fixed using EQ-Dir and better power source;
- better framing - I'll just have to be more careful next time and remember that the 'meda is huge.
I might try capturing it with the 90/660 apo, next year.
