Description

The stars in the Pleiades are hot and young, emitting predominantly blue light. When this light interacts with the surrounding interstellar dust, shorter wavelengths (blue light) are scattered more effectively than longer wavelengths, making the cluster appear predominantly blue. The reflection nebula, responsible for the wisps, is a cloud of dust that the stars are currently passing through in space and is not attributed to their birth. Because of its prominence in the winter sky, M45 has played a significant cultural role in ancient times.

I started out with 5 minute exposures and then determined on another night that I could push things a bit further at 7.
