Description

This is a crop-in of one of my Milky Way wide field images from Summer.

The large Dark Horse Nebula is actually made up of several unrelated dark nebulae in the Milky Way star cloud, each with it's own Barnard catalog number.

Some examples - Rear leg (B77, B78, B59), front lifted leg (B63), straight front leg (B253, B246), head (B268, B270, B259, B64, B266). Going up along the Milky Way, you can also spot several prominent Messier objects - M8 (Lagoon Nebula), M20 (Triffid Nebula), M17 (Omega/Swan Nebula), M16 (Eagle Nebula).
