Description

This is Omega Centauri - a brilliantly bright star cluster in the southern constellation of Centaurus.

Hanging in the sky like a glowing orb, this globular star cluster contains over 10 million stars and spans 150 light years making it the most luminous and massive cluster in our galaxy.

I captured this over a few nights in the early evening while waiting for other targets to get higher in the sky and being so bright, targets like this don't take much integration time to get a great result. But with some faint dust hanging around, it's probably worth dedicating more than 5 hours to this target!
