Description

The field of M81 and M82, showing the usable field of an RASA8 astrograph in kind of a telescopic view.

The object during exposures was less than 29 degrees above (theoretical) horizon.

The rather short subframe exposure of 30 s was a test, if the galactic cirrus in the field could be made visible at all, when using so much subframes: yes.

According to the brightest pixel in the core region of M81, the exposure time alone could be extended to more than 4 times as long, i.e. 2 minutes, to avoid saturation.

The second image version shows 3x zoomed in regions in the image, in a telescopic view, too.
