Description

The Soul Nebula, also known as IC-1848 or Westerhout-5, is an emission nebula located in Cassiopeia. It is located to the east of The Heart Nebula, and the pair are often referred to as the Heart and Soul. Distance to earth is about 7500 light years. The image was taken during a very bright Waxing Gibbous moon. Once again, the STC Astro Duo Narrowband filter did a great job keeping the broadband moonlight in check. The area was about 72° from the moon.
