NGC 185 is an spheroidal dwarf galaxy and companion of M31.

First real image with my new ED scope. My refractor is an ED semi-APO only, so it has some clear CA. Focal length of 330mm is quite long for my StarAdventurer, but with good PA (<1') and guiding (RA RMS < 2", no DEC guiding) I get round stars at 60s. I think I loose about about 2" FWHM due to RA guiding RMS and DEC drift. Total FWHM is 8".

30x60s = 0.5h integration time

Revision C:

30x60s + 59x60s = 1.5h integration time

This revision is without any attempt to reduce the CA. The next version, I will look into this. The star size reduction in PixInsight actually made the CA look worse than it is.

Revision E:

30x60s + 59x60s = 1.5h integration time

Spend some effort to reduce CA in PixInsight (blurred chrominance around stars and shifted hue after stretch). I'll leave it at that.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
