Description

My lunar and solar images have been captured using my 420mm refractor and QHY 168C astro cam, but I decided to try something different. I pulled out my 8" Dobsonian, attached the DSLR, framed up the moon, and captured video until it moved out of frame. I reframed and repeated the process several times, combined all of the videos to SER format using PIPP, and then stacked in AutoStakkert, sharpened and curve adjusted in ImPPG, and then finished up in Lightroom for some more slider tweaking and sharpening. Not bad! I wish the DSLR would capture higher resolution video - it would only capture 720p.
