Description

Here's another image I never completed processing. There were a couple of issues with flats (some accidental camera rotation and probably some dew) but the resolution of the stars looked good. For example, check out the nice ring around NGC6207, the galaxy in the lower left of the field of view. Whoops.

The dark band through the middle looks like it must have been dew. I'm not entirely sure.

I must have given up on this data because of these problems, but I decided to complete it today. I might as well learn from my own mistakes and challenging conditions as well.

And before you mention that I crushed the background -- I know. Believe me, it wasn't pretty.

This was shot with a GSO 8" f/4 newt using the Sky-Watcher Quattro Coma Corrector which seems to do a good job (at least with a Micro 4/3rds sensor -- I haven't tried it with the 2600MM yet). There was a tiny bit of vignetting but it was mostly within areas that would need to be cropped due to dithering and meridian flip misalignment.
