Description

Messier 53 is a globular cluster in the Coma Berenices constellation. It is one of the more outlying globular clusters, being about 60,000 light-years light-years away from the Galactic Center of the Milky Way, and almost the same distance (about 58,000 light-years) from the Solar System. Messier 53 is relatively easy to find as it lies in the same area of the sky as Arcturus, the fourth brightest star in the sky.
