Description

Hi Astrobin friends!

After 3 months solid cloud and rain we finally got some clear nights (three !) here in Leeds so was able to try some winter targets

Having not used the scopes for three months  I was expecting problems but oh dear ....

On the first night I got my 130mm set up and started a run I noticed some weird marks in the subs like a couple of hands

I thought it must have been a tree or something but no

It appeared in all filters so gave up for the night

Next day I looked at the camera and there were marks on the sensor - I wonder whether this is the famous 2600 oil leak issue ?

Being a bit rash I determined to sort it my self so disassmbled the camera and cleaned the sensor using a kit I had for my DSLR

Managed to do this OK and the camera still worked so that is good

On taking flats I noticed there were a few flecks of the gunk i had cleaned off left but hoped the new flats would sort them out - which they dont lol

So i will have to have another go ...

They flecks of gunk are only small so I was able to clean them up in processing

I got two nights on Orion in the week - Due to restricted view from my garden only get about three hours night tops but here is the result

RGB data was fairly eugh apart from the core of the nebula

Lume 229 x 30s = 1 hr 54 minutes
Red 119 x 30s = 59.5 mins
Green 118 x 30s = 59 mins
Blue 95 x 30 s = 47.5 mins

= 4 hrs 38 mins
